Job description:

Working in a busy manufacturing environment producing precision brass turned components, you role will be to change over machines with regard to tooling and attachments. You will be responsible for the manufacture and quality of high volume complex turned parts. Specific on the job training will be given.

Role involves:

> Change-over of a variety of tools and attachments for new and existing components

> Knowledge of direct measuring equipment

> Meet quality standard targets

>Carry out routine maintenance on machinery and equipment

> Machine minding when an operator is not available

> Commitment towards Lean Manufacturing techniques.

> Continuous Improvement focus

Who we`re looking for:

The successful candidate will have experience of setting multi-spindle machines (preferably Wickman). Experience of thread milling, chasing, recessing and tapping is advantageous.

You will be able to work on your own initiative and have good problem solving skills. It is essential that you are able to read and understand component drawings and have good communication skills together with numeracy and literacy skills.

CNC Setter / Operator

Job description:

The job title will be that of CNC Turner Programmer/Setter/Operator reporting to the CNC Section Supervisor. Programming both on and off the machine, setting and where necessary operating machines.

All CNC machines are Fanuc controlled, mainly fairly new Doosan single spindle/single turret machines.

Items produced are in brass, 316 stainless steel and aluminium, in batch quantities from 1 pc to 5,000 pcs working to either customer drawings or in-house produced drawings.  Short lead times require quick response setting and production of fairly simple electrical cable gland fittings with demanding levels of quality.

To achieve Peppers Cable Glands demanding adherence to specification a strict quality controlled environment is maintained at all times.

Who we`re looking for:

The successful candidate will have at least two years’ recent experience of programming and setting CNC turning machines (preferably Doosan). Experience of FANUC controls is a pre-requisite.

You will be able to work on your own initiative and have good problem solving skills. It is essential that you are able to read and understand component drawings and have good communication skills together with numeracy and literacy skills.

The ability to set quickly and produce parts in a cost effective manner is essential.
