Appointment of General Manager

New Appointment:

Currie & Warner board of directors are pleased to announce the appointment of Matthew Warrender to the position of General Manager.

Matthew has worked for Currie & Warner for 15 years, first serving as an apprentice then in various roles until his talents were identified during his last position as Production Engineering Manager. Matthew is one of the youngest General Managers to have been appointed since the company was established in 1855!

Commenting on the new appointment Managing Director Keith Sedgebear said: “Matthew’s professionalism and attention to detail has shone through and is complimented by exceptional drive and motivation. I look forward to see him flourish in his new role and take the company forward.”

In this new role, Matthew will spearhead the development of the business and has the full backing of the Directors and Management team.

Commenting on his appointment Matthew said: “I am looking forward to the challenges ahead and to continue working with a talented management team and work-force.  We must now build on the recent successes we have enjoyed by implementing a strategic plan.  The goal is to make the company more efficient which will aid the sales team in capturing new business.”

The appointment of Matthew has been in the pipe line for some time but has moved forward due to the departure of Production Director John Williams. John’s employment began at Currie & Warner as an apprentice and he has been with the company for 27 years.  John’s new position is with a much larger manufacturing company in a different area of engineering, unconnected with Currie & Warner or the turned parts industry.  It is a great opportunity for John to put his considerable managerial and motivational talents to work in a much larger organisation.  Currie & Warner are fully supportive of John to grasp this opportunity and wish him well in this exciting challenge.

In addition to the restructure of staff Currie & Warner are also pleased to announce the appointment of Gary McCool to the position of Works Manager. Gary also began life at Currie & Warner as an apprentice and has since served the company for over 25 years.  The new role for Gary was a natural progression from his previous position of Works Supervisor and will in part facilitate a handover of some work functions from John Williams.
