Male Adaptors

Adaptor fittings enable a connection from a pipe, hose or cable to another pipe, hose or cable which is a different size or type. They can be used to reduce the flow or even terminate the pipe, hose or cable run. For example you may have a manifold that has imperial female threads and you need to fit a pipe that has a metric male end. An adaptor will connect the two together.

Currie & Warner manufacture medium to large volume adaptors used in the electrical connector industry. Many old installations have imperial threads and most new fittings are metric. Thus requiring adaptors to bridge the gap.

Female Adaptors

Similar to Male adaptor fittings, Female adaptors enable a connection from a pipe, hose or cable to another pipe, hose or cable which is a different size or type. But the Female adaptor connects pipes etc that have male threads. Female adaptors can be used to reduce the flow or even terminate the pipe, hose or cable run.

DN Series Fittings

"Diameter Nominal" (DN) is a designation of a pipe size. DN followed by a number denotes the size of a pipe (approximately, its inside diameter) in millimetres (mm).

The terms nominal bore (NB) and DN are used interchangeably with NPS "Nominal Pipe Size". DN is the European equivalent of NPS but shows pipe sizes differently than NPS. A 2-inch pipe may simply be referred to as DN 50 and to convert NPS to DN it has to be multiplied by 25.
